JOB SUMMARY:

Westmont Hospitality Group - Extended Stay Division is seeking District Manager candidates to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-directed leader who cultivates teamwork while providing leadership and direction to assigned General Managers within the Northeast and Southeast regions of the United States. District Managers will direct and manage property operations for multiple properties within their district to ensure optimum performance and continual improvement in all KPIs.

 

 JOB DUTIES:

  • Conduct regular property visits at hotels within the district.
  • Ensure General Managers are provided clear goals and objectives for each assigned property.
  • Manage a team of General Managers including coaching, counseling, performance evaluations etc.
  • Promote the 100% guest satisfaction objective and ensure the property management team imparts this philosophy to all associates throughout the hotel.
  • Responsible for the formulation of each property's annual budget, forecasts and capital expenditure improvement proposal.
  • Responsible for the management of labor standards and property level expenses to achieve maximum flowthrough to the bottom line for each hotel.
  • Ensure all assigned general managers fully understand the budgeting process and how to fully evaluate and address underperforming financial areas.
  • Work with Sales and Reg. Director Operations to plan sales activities, set goals and compile reports to produce and track sales at each property.
  • Assist the General Managers with retention programs and turnover reduction strategies.
  • Work to build solid client relationships in the district, with the management team and staff at each assigned hotel.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:                                        

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Training or Business is preferred or equivalent relevant work experience of no less than four years.
  • 3-5 years as a General Manager, Operations Manager or District Manager in hotel operations or similar position/environment.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, must possess the emotional intelligence, moral character, and skills to lead and inspire a team.
  • A proven track record, experience at operating successful properties and delivering results.
  • The ability to operate independently, achieve superior results while working with minimal direction and exceptional support
  • Must have "ownership mentality."
  • Strategic foresight, an ability to foresee upcoming market dynamics and assist General Manager in crafting business plans to maximize revenue. 
  • An eye for detail, deliver exceptional customer and associate service
  • An analytical mind, possess the ability to budget and plan eventualities, along with the skill to analyze and adjust strategies as is required in today's volatile markets.

   

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be flexible and willing to work some non-traditional hours/days, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to travel 75% conducting property visits, operations support & training.
